Can my new husband adopt my baby?

I have a 14 month old baby. I am no longer with her father. I have recently remarried. My husband is in her life more than her father has been. It is pretty easy to give some of the legal and physical rights to my husband, right? Would this be part of the adoption? Is this something that we can do on our own? Thank you!

Based on the facts that you have presented, it appears that you will be best served by having an attorney, unless the biological father of the child is willing to voluntary consent to having your husband adopt the child. If you are in Ventura county, please feel free to call my office to discuss this further.
